#Devshouts – Character focus: Alicia

In this video, the first on the new #DevShouts series, we delve into the tactical aspects of the game, and hint how to get the best out of your Raider of choice. In this occasion, one of our Game Designers shares his preferred build when playing as Alicia.
The Raiders fans recently voted Alicia as their favourite character during the recent Beta, and for a good reason. She has a very defined Assault profile, thanks to her superhuman agility and high speed. Her weapons of choice are repeater shotguns, nicely complementing her superb mobility with great mid-range firepower.

Alicia is a… “complicated” person. Like the rest of the Raiders, she has her own reasons to join Harec’s band of misfits. You can learn more about her troubled past in her comic.

The new BETA is upon us

We are back to the #RaidersBeta this weekend! And that’d be right after a BIG announcement about Raiders of the Broken Planet. Keep an eye on our Twitter and Facebook accounts for more information!

As usual, the Beta will start on Saturday 19th, 09:00 Europe /CEST, and ends on Sunday 20th, 19:00PM Europe /CEST. US servers will be live from Saturday 19th 09:00AM to Sunday 20th 19:00PM (EST), and of course any key-holding closed beta participants can once again join in the fun!

As we speak, the team is busy implementing some important changes to the “In Shock” mission, thanks to the feedback you provided (Thanks!), thus this mission won’t be available next weekend. Those changes will add gameplay options and implement new strategies, and we are testing it hard to ensure it’s perfect when you get to play it.

Here’s a list of the improvements you will find on this new Beta:

  • New “Universe” section added to the game (WIP)
  • Hints and Tips texts added to the loading screens (Might be in Spanish though!)
  • Improved HUD, including D Pad options.
  • Improved Boss health bar.
  • Polished IA for the Grunts’ behaviour.
  • Bug fixing to avoid losing Aleph upon entering a cutscene.
  • Overall performance optimization for all the missions.

We are also working on character balance. We have seen some interesting debate about Shae and Konstantine in our forums, and we encourage you to add to it with your impressions after the Beta -That’s all important to us!

That’s all for now. Stay tuned for more news tomorrow, and don’t forget to share your thoughts about the game using the #RaidersBeta hashtag on Social Media.

See you on the Broken Planet!

We’d like to encourage you to share with us your top moves, funny moments and best matches, and you can do so on Twitter using the #RaidersBeta hashtag! Also, our game devs will be active this weekend, and will share with you their best moves and skills, so keep an eye on this hashtag!

As usual, the Beta will start this Saturday 5th of August, 09.00AM Europe/CEST, and will end on Sunday 6th 19.00PM. US servers will be live from Saturday 5th 09:00AM to Sunday 6th 19:00PM (EST), and of course any key-holding closed beta participants can once again take part.

Some things to keep in mind this weekend:

– Some of you asked about how to recruit Shae. While this wasn’t possible before, we have unlocked this character in the roster for this weekend, allowing for more variety to choose from during your games but she’ll only be available with her basic gear during the Beta.

– Did you watch our latest Dev Diaries about gameplay innovation? You can check Part 1 here and Part 2 here.

– If you are looking for a team to play with in this weekends Beta, the Discord community have created a meeting point where you will find other players to go raiding the Broken Planet together.

– Some users are finding that Bitdefender can interfere when trying to log in to the Raiders’ servers. Please, keep it in mind if you are using that service!

– We continue with our Friday’s #RaidersReport, Check the latest instalment here.

See you on the Broken Planet, Raiders!
